The Hasselblad Portrait Mode on the OPPO Find X8 is my favorite camera feature. It emulates the natural bokeh of Hasselblad’s lenses at various focal lengths, from 85mm to 24mm, capturing every detail with a finesse that makes your subjects look like they’re straight out of a professional studio.
The color science, which I personally love, is exceptional, with rich, accurate tones that bring out the best in your subjects. In comparison, the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra’s portrait mode is impressive, but the OPPO Find X8’s colors are more true to life, offering a pop without feeling artificial.
Here are some sample photos that I took using both devices. Credit is definitely due on how clear and color-precise the photos I shot on the Galaxy Ultra. However, I find the output of OPPO Find X8 much better, overall, especially when you hyperfocus on how it is able to fully separate the subject from the background. What is even amazing here is how the camera app gives you more flexibility in editing the photo, even at post and without using any external applications.
Note that the OPPO Find X8 is half the price of the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra. Do not get me wrong: I really like the Galaxy S24 Ultra. However, if budget is tight for a flagship portrait camera smartphone, the OPPO Find X8 is definitely a solid choice
Zoom Features
The OPPO Find X8 features an AI Telescope Zoom that significantly improves zoom quality at long distances. At 60x, when physical data from the telephoto camera is limited, the phone activates AI models to enhance details, providing clarity that’s hard to find in other smartphones.

I shot this from outside.The reflection on the window is undeniable evident on the first photo. With Remove Reflections, it drastically minimized the reflections, which eventually brought out the features of my focused subject. This isn’t exactly a new feature, but it is commendable nonetheless because its implementation – aided by AI – is one of the best I’ve seen lately.
These tools, combined with the phone’s hardware, create a seamless editing experience that can match or even surpass what other flagship camera smartphones offer.
