Square Enix has revealed new details for ‘Final Fantasy Resonance’, its upcoming HD-2D RPG based on the first season of the now-defunct mobile game ‘Final Fantasy Brave Exvius’. Developers emphasized that the title is a complete, console-quality reimagining rather than a basic port.

A key feature is the “Visions” system, which allows players to equip the crystallized essences of original and legacy Final Fantasy heroes like Cloud and Terra. This mechanic grants customizable abilities and stat boosts, with the Visions visually shadowing characters during combat.

Battles include a staggering mechanic that activates a cinematic, high-damage “Resonance” phase. Players can also summon iconic Espers like Siren and Ramuh, who will fight alongside the party for three turns. Exploration includes full-control airship travel and entirely new side quests, all supported by a soundtrack featuring 33 brand-new arrangements.
