Infninix GT 50 Pro is an MPL-Ready Beast
There’s something refreshingly cool about the Infinix GT series. It doesn’t pretend to be a general-purpose flagship. It wants to be your next gaming phone. And with the Infinix GT 50 Pro, Infinix has arguably made the most compelling argument yet for that positioning – one that’s already been validated where it matters most: on the competitive stage.

As the official gaming phone of MPL Philippines and a device trusted by pro players in actual tournament play, the GT 50 Pro carries real esports credibility before you even power it on. After some time playing around with the device, here’s what stands out and what still needs to prove itself over the long haul.
Built Like It Means Business
Let’s start with the obvious: this phone looks and feels like it was designed by someone who actually plays games. The GT 50 Pro arrives in three colorways (Red Blaze, Black Abyss, and Glacier Silver) each inspired by the phone’s internal liquid cooling system. On the back, a Kevlar-inspired texture meets aerodynamics-inspired contours lifted from supercar wind tunnel testing, and the result is a device that feels like it belongs on a race track or a battlestation. It’s unapologetically gamer-centric, and honestly, that’s a breath of fresh air now.

The four crosshair-styled RGB lighting strips are the real showstopper. Supporting 14 lighting scenarios and 8 customizable colors, they react dynamically to in-game events, charging states, and even low-battery alerts. New this generation is the “Flip-to-Light” feature: flip the phone face-down and the lighting activates as a standby mode indicator. It’s a small detail, but it shows Infinix is paying attention to the little things that matter to enthusiasts.

What you can’t see but will absolutely feel is the Pipeline Window Display, a transparent panel at the back that lets you literally watch the cooling liquid circulate in real time. It’s part engineering showcase, part aesthetic flex, and it works beautifully on both fronts.
HydroFlow Liquid Cooling Architecture
The headline feature of the GT 50 Pro is its HydroFlow Liquid Cooling Architecture, and Infinix isn’t being subtle about it. This is an active system driven by a dual-piezoelectric ceramic micro-pump with a massive diaphragm area (6,437mm²) described as the industry’s largest in a smartphone, achieving a flow rate of 6.5ml/min through precision laser-engraved channels. Backing this up is a 3D Vapor Chamber (7,700mm²) and 25,000mm² graphite sheets, bringing the total cooling area to an impressive 32,700mm², which is a 63.5% increase over the GT 30 Pro.

On paper, those numbers are huge. In practice, even during our initial testing with extended CODM and MLBB sessions, the phone maintained noticeably consistent temperatures compared to what we’ve experienced with other mid-range gaming phones. Take note though that we’re in a controlled environment with 27C ambient temperature. However, when compared to other smartphones of the same category (gaming), the Infinix GT 50 Pro performs relatively well, if not at par.

The system offers three selectable modes (Smart, Normal, and Rapid), giving users control over how aggressively the cooling engages. Is it completely silent? Not always. The micro-pump is faintly audible in very quiet environments, which full hands-on testing will better address. But for gaming use cases where audio is always pumping through speakers or earbuds, it’s unlikely to be an issue.
Performance That Packs a Punch
The device’s chipset is doing serious work here. While we still have yet to benchmark this phone, which we will include in our full review, our initial impression is downright impressive. It performs smoothly across the board, and we even managed to install some of our Steam Games using GameHub. At first, I didn’t think it was possible but it pulled off amazingly.
Native 144FPS support is certified across six major titles: Call of Duty: Mobile, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Arena Breakout and even Racing Master (my current favorite racing game). The MediaTek Frame Rate Converter (MFRC) also enables frame interpolation for titles like Honkai: Star Rail and CODM at higher graphics settings, which are meaningful gains for competitive players who live and die by frame timing.

One standout that deserves its own spotlight is the Pressure-Sense GT Trigger. Built with an open-cut pressure-sensing design, it supports four actions (light press, heavy press, left slide, and right slide) across up to 8 mapping points and 10 adjustable sensitivity levels, with input latency rated under 20ms. Whether you’re quick-scoping in PUBG or triggering blink-and-combo sequences in MLBB, the GT Trigger feels intuitive after only a short learning curve. It also extends to everyday tasks like photo capture, video playback control, and app launching, making it a genuinely versatile addition rather than a pure gimmick. As a CODM gamer, this gives a very competitive edge to level up both on casual and competitive play.

More Than Just a Gaming Phone
Infinix clearly wants the GT 50 Pro to be taken seriously as a daily driver, and there’s genuine substance to that claim. This is the first Infinix smartphone to support Dolby Atmos, with four audio modes and professional tuning across 28 supported game titles. The camera system features a 50MP OIS main shooter, an 8MP ultra-wide, and a 13MP front camera, with support for 4K 60FPS rear recording and AI Studio editing tools including AI Eraser and AI Reflection Remover.

The 6,500mAh battery with 45W wired and 30W wireless charging is another strong point, with Infinix rating MLBB gaming endurance at over 27 hours per charge. Battery longevity is also addressed with AI Self-Healing Technology rated for 1,600 charging cycles, which is double what you’d typically see, plus five years of security patches and three OS version updates.

Early Verdict
While we’re still waiting for its official SRP, the Infinix GT 50 Pro seems to position itself as accessible flagship-tier gaming without the flagship price tag. Of course, while find out more about that once they announce its official price. The cooling system is genuinely differentiated, it is a strong performer when it comes to performance, and the GT Trigger adds a tactile dimension to mobile gaming that most phones simply don’t offer. MPL PH’s official endorsement adds competitive credibility that resonates strongly in the local gaming community.
