HONOR X7e: For Long Lasting Usage
HONOR X7e makes a clear first impression: this is a budget phone built around battery life, durability, and everyday practicality rather than flashy specs. Based on the media brief and early spec listings, it looks aimed at buyers who want a dependable daily device that can last long hours without constantly reaching for a charger.
Build and design
HONOR X7e goes for a familiar modern look, with a flat-sided frame, a clean rear panel, and a large camera ring that gives it a more premium feel than its price suggests. It comes in Midnight Black, Light Blue, and Sunrise Orange, and while the design is simple, it does enough to avoid looking cheap.
The bigger story is durability. HONOR is highlighting 5-star SGS Premium Performance certification for drop and crush resistance, and the phone is also listed with IP64 dust and splash resistance. That does not mean it is rugged in the true sense, but it should be better prepared for daily accidents, light rain, and rougher use than many budget phones.
Display
Up front, the phone uses a 6.61-inch TFT LCD with HD+ resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate. The smooth refresh rate should make scrolling and general navigation feel better than on a basic 60 Hz panel, but the 720p resolution is one of the main compromises here.
That means videos and text may not look as sharp as they would on a Full HD screen, especially on a display this size. HONOR does claim strong brightness and eye comfort features, so the panel should still be usable outdoors and comfortable enough for long stretches of reading, browsing, or watching content.
Hardware
HONOR X7e is powered by the MediaTek Helio G81 Ultra, paired with up to 8 GB RAM and up to 256 GB storage depending on the market and configuration. This is a sensible chip for day-to-day use, not a gaming-first processor, so the phone should be fine for messaging, social media, streaming, navigation, and light gaming, but not ideal for heavier titles at high settings.
Other practical features help its appeal. It has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, USB-C, 4G LTE, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack, which still matters for many users buying in this price range. For students, riders, and workers who just want reliable basics, that hardware mix makes sense.
Software and other software features
The phone runs MagicOS 10 based on Android 16, which gives it a modern software base, though HONOR has not clearly outlined a long-term update policy in the materials available so far. As with many budget devices, the full experience will depend on how clean the software feels over time and how much preinstalled content users have to deal with.
The standout feature is the dedicated AI button. HONOR says this side key can open an AI assistant, launch quick services, trigger screen suggestions, access Google Lens, and even work as a shortcut for things like flashlight or sound controls. More importantly, it can be customized with app and function shortcuts, which gives it a practical edge if the response is fast and reliable in actual use.
Camera
Camera hardware is simple. HONOR X7e uses a 50 MP main rear camera and a 5 MP front camera, with video capped at 1080p. There is no real camera versatility here, since you are mostly relying on that single main lens for photos and video.
That may still be enough for the target market. A decent main camera usually matters more than a weak extra macro or depth sensor, and HONOR’s image tuning in this segment often leans toward bright, social-media-friendly shots. Low-light quality and consistency remain open questions until more real testing is done.
Audio
Audio is not a major selling point here, and available specs suggest a basic speaker setup rather than something more immersive. Still, the presence of a 3.5 mm headphone jack makes the phone more practical for wired earphones, cheaper headsets, and users who do not want to depend entirely on Bluetooth audio.
That fits the overall character of the device. HONOR appears to have prioritized useful everyday features over trying to oversell entertainment credentials.
Battery
Battery is where HONOR X7e stands out most. The phone is being promoted with a 7,500 mAh battery and 45 W charging, and HONOR’s own materials position this as the central reason to consider the device.
On paper, that gives the X7e a real advantage in its class. Even allowing for the gap between lab results and real use, this should be a genuine all-day phone and likely a more-than-one-day phone for lighter users. It also supports reverse wired charging, which adds some extra value if you need to top up small accessories or another device in a pinch.
Initial Verdict
At an SRP of Php 14,999, with a 7.7 price for as low as Php 9,999, HONOR X7e looks like a phone designed for buyers who care more about staying powered up than chasing the sharpest screen or strongest camera system. Its biggest strengths are clear: huge battery, decent charging speed, useful durability features, a smooth 120 Hz display, and a practical AI shortcut button.
The trade-offs are also easy to spot. You are getting a 720p display, a modest processor, and a basic camera setup in exchange for that battery-focused approach. As a first impression, HONOR X7e looks like a sensible and potentially very attractive option for users who want a phone that lasts long, handles daily wear better than most, and stays within budget.
