2K has released NBA 2K27, the latest entry in the long-running basketball simulation franchise developed by Visual Concepts. The game is now available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam, and Nintendo Switch 2.
Three editions are offered at launch: the Standard Edition (USD 69.99) featuring Victor Wembanyama on the cover, the Deluxe Edition (USD 99.99) headlined by Caitlin Clark, and the limited-time Ultra Edition (USD 149.99) featuring Derrick Rose, available only through September 6 at 11:59 PM PT. What’s new in NBA 2K27
NBA 2K27 arrives with an overhauled gameplay foundation powered by ProPLAY, touching both ends of the floor. New offensive tools include a customizable dribbling suite, while defense gains redesigned hands-up play, an overhauled shot contest system, and a new collision system, alongside a revamped Takeover system and smarter AI.
The headline addition is The City’s first Co-Ed experience. Players can now build a female MyPLAYER and compete alongside male MyPLAYERs across every multiplayer mode in The City, with both built on the same framework for on-court parity. New environments arrive for The REC, The Theater, Ante-Up, and Seasonal Parks, joined by a Crew HQ for squads and a Casual Corner for newer players.
MyCAREER gets one of its biggest updates in years with the new MyCAREER Eras mode, letting players run the NBA across five legendary eras, plus “Fire & Concrete,” described as the most expansive cinematic narrative in series history, and the first co-op MyCAREER. In MyNBA, a rebuilt core franchise experience adds improved CBA contract negotiations and an all-new GM Trust system, topped by MyNBA Legacy, a player-locked RPG experience spanning a 100-year universe.
MyTEAM now gives every card value through a new Player XP system, while the Auction House is unified across PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2. The W and MyWNBA also receive dedicated single-player experiences with a Build-as-You-Go progression model.
Switch 2 and PC highlights
On Nintendo Switch 2, NBA 2K27 delivers a 60 FPS Performance Mode for the first time in the series, plus party-style motion mini-games, GameShare support, and full mouse support. On PC, the game supports NVIDIA DLSS 5 with 3D-Guided Neural Rendering for GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs, which we detailed in our earlier coverage of the game’s PC features.
