Apple has confirmed its annual iPhone-focused event for September 9 (September 10, 1AM in the Philippines), at Apple Park in Cupertino, California.

iPhone Lineup

Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and its first foldable iPhone, which may be called the iPhone Ultra. The standard iPhone 18 is not expected to debut this year because Apple reportedly plans to launch more affordable models in spring 2027.

All three new iPhones are expected to use Apple’s A20 Pro chip, built on a 2nm process for improved speed and efficiency. The iPhone 18 Pro models could also get an upgraded variable-aperture rear camera while having a generally similar look as the iPhone 17 Pro. Prices are also expected to increase due to the ongoing memory shortages.

Foldable iPhone

The foldable iPhone would be Apple’s first new form factor since the iPhone X launched in 2017. We’ve already seen a dummy unit, but the final product may be different. Its book-like design may measure 5.5 inches closed and 7.6 inches open. The wider-than-tall device could provide an iPad-like experience when unfolded. Its thin design may translate to compromises, including Touch ID instead of Face ID and as seen in the dummy unit, only two cameras. Ultrawide in favor of the telephoto camera? We’ll see. Fan-made videos have also surfaced, which shows a device with a similar look but in a different color.

More Products and Software
