OPPO Find X9 Pro, the better Find X9 variant
Choosing a new flagship phone is tough, especially with brands like OPPO constantly dropping new devices. But if you’re torn between the new Find X9 models, let’s be real: the OPPO Find X9 Pro is the version you’re probably going to want in your pocket.
It, being a Pro device, actually brings a bunch of step-ups that make it the obvious pick if you care about cameras, battery, and having a phone that’s built for anything your day might throw at it.
Let’s Get into the LUMO Camera System
First things first: let’s talk about the camera, because that’s usually what everyone’s curious about. OPPO packed this phone with its latest and greatest LUMO camera system, and honestly, it’s the besst implementation for mobile photography in my opinion.
With the Find X9 Pro, you’re still getting the usual stacked specs like a 50MP main camera, 200MP periscope lens (yes, you read that right), and another 50MP ultrawide. But what really blew me away was how the camera’s software and sensor work together.
For instance, during a recent test, I zoomed in on a building from pretty far away, just to see what the camera could handle. The Find X9 Pro not only picked up all the tiny details, it actually read out the logo on the building’s facade. That’s something I tried on the regular Find X9 too, but the standard model just couldn’t deliver the same level of clarity. It’s these little moments that really show OPPO’s LUMO system refuses to settle for “good enough,” especially with zoom shots.
Of course, having that kind of camera power isn’t just for flexing specs on a product page. For anyone who loves taking cityscapes, snapping photos while traveling, or just wants Instagram-worthy pics without a lot of fuss, those crisp, vibrant shots are a big win.
I have been using this phone for a few days now here in Barcelona, and its camera performance blew my away. I’ve noticed less noise, better color handling, and just a more reliable experience when shooting in tricky lighting. That’s something you’ll actually notice day-to-day, not just when pixel peeping.
Performance Monster
Now, on the performance front, the OPPO Find X9 Pro and the Find X9 are performance beasts. They both rock the same MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chip, which means gaming, streaming, editing, and multitasking all feel fast, fluid, and frustration-free.
The Pro doesn’t necessarily pull ahead here because of raw power in my experience despite having the better overall benchmark score, but it does seem a notch more polished when it comes to keeping cool and running smooth, even when you’re pushing it hard. That’s down to some behind-the-scenes optimizations that just make it a little more reliable for the power user. Again, performance benchmark numbers are helpful but should not be considered as the sole basis of your purchase.
Battery
And let’s not forget battery life—that little bump in battery capacity really goes a long way. The Find X9 Pro comes packed with a big 7500mAh battery, so you don’t need to panic about running out of juice, whether you’re stuck in traffic, on a long commute, or out filming all day.
Combined with OPPO’s quick 80W wired and 50W wireless charging, topping up is super fast and hassle-free. You can get a significant charge even if you only have a little time to spare, and if you’re the type who always forgets to plug in until the last minute, this phone will have your back.
What OPPO Could have done differently
Similar to my thoughts on the OPPO Find X9: no phone is perfect; and it’s fair to point out the Find X9 Pro does stumble when it comes to video recording. What’s the issue? Video stabilization isn’t quite dialed in, and you might notice your clips turning out a bit on the shaky side. Honestly, if you’ve used something like the iPhone 17 Pro Max or even HUAWEI’s latest Pura 80 Ultra, you’ll immediately see the difference because those phones keep things smooth, even if you’re filming while walking or capturing a lot of movement in some extent. This is one spot where OPPO still needs to improve on, maybe through a future software update. If your main goal is to shoot a ton of pro-grade video on your phone, that’s something to keep in mind.
But at the end of the day, the OPPO Find X9 Pro just feels like the most complete package in the Find X9 family. The camera’s a legitimate step up for detail and clarity, the battery is seriously dependable, and performance stays top-notch no matter what you throw at it. Sure, there’s some room for growth in the video department, but if you’re after a phone that can keep up with whatever your day entails (be it work, content creation, or just staying connected) the Pro is the obvious pick. It’s the one you get if you want to make sure you’re not settling, and it genuinely feels like it was built to go the distance.
Now, for Filipino consumers, there’s one huge caveat, the OPPO Find X9 Pro will not officially be available in the Philippines, at least for the time being. We asked OPPO Philippines, and they did confirm that the first tranche of Find X9 availability excludes the OPPO Find X9 Pro.
