Our internet speeds are continuously improving over time thanks to either free upgrades or temporary speed boosts granted by our Internet Service Providers. Despite this, there’s still a large and vocal subscriber base complaining about the slow internet whether it be streaming a video, gaming or even browsing. It’s likely that most of them are still using their ISP-issued router which can barely handle a few devices, let alone provide stable transfer speeds. Some have a third-party router that simply cannot handle the number of devices connected or penetrate walls thus having poor internet. Getting a quality router will solve most of these problems but getting an ASUS AiMesh router will greatly improve your quality with its advanced suite of features including the ability to connect routers for extended household coverage should you need to cover areas that have thick walls or dead spots.

Why ASUS AiMesh Routers?

ASUS AiMesh vs Regular Router

ASUS AiMesh Routers are simply smarter, faster, and more reliable versions of your traditional WiFi routers that have an extendable function or that act as repeaters. Traditional extendable routers and repeaters work by copying the signal of the parent/host device and simply retransmitting the signal to expand its coverage area. But devices like your smartphone, tablet, or laptop, aren’t smart enough to know which router it’s connected to and switch between them, let alone which router provides a better signal.

ASUS AiMesh routers don’t just simply repeat the signal but make these routers work as one cohesive unit as if your devices are connected to only one router. AiMesh intelligently assigns your device to the optimal router so that it can get the best signal and speed possible.

Better Network Management

ASUS AiMesh provides a more efficient and effective way to manage your home network compared to traditional WiFi mesh routers and WiFi extenders. It uses intelligent algorithms to automatically select the best route for network traffic, reducing congestion and improving network performance. ASUS AiMesh routers also have advanced features like parental controls and network optimization, which are not available in traditional WiFi mesh routers and WiFi extenders.

Better Coverage

ASUS AiMesh Routers vs Regular Router

ASUS AiMesh creates a network of connected routers that work together to provide better coverage throughout the home. This eliminates dead zones and provides a seamless wireless experience for users, especially in large households or multi-story buildings where traditional routers may struggle to provide adequate coverage. In contrast, traditional WiFi mesh routers and WiFi extenders may still leave areas with poor coverage.

Better Performance

ASUS AiMesh provides better overall performance compared to traditional WiFi mesh routers and WiFi extenders. By creating a network of connected routers, it reduces network latency and improves network speed, especially in congested areas. It also provides better reliability and stability, reducing the likelihood of dropped connections or network disruptions.

Cost Effective

ASUS AiMesh is a cost-effective solution compared to traditional WiFi mesh routers and WiFi extenders. Rather than replacing your existing router or buying expensive mesh network devices, AiMesh allows you to use your existing compatible ASUS routers to create a mesh network. This can save you money while still providing the benefits of a mesh network.

Let’s Put That To The Test

We performed a variety of tests in our condominium(and the unoccupied condo next to it) to see the effectiveness of ASUS AiMesh. We have the ASUS ROG GT-AX11000 Pro as our main router and the ASUS RT-AX1800HP as our AiMesh node. The main reason for the placement of the AX11000 Pro is limited in where our ISP modem-router is located. Running a long fiber optic cable or an ethernet cable to reposition isn’t possible as the cables are too delicate and thick to go through doors as well as the outlet placement in the condo. That said, we have no choice but to settle with this setup and it’s actually another great reason why you might need an AiMesh router as not every home has the flexibility to place routers at the optimal position due to wirings, clearance issues, and the like.

We tested the signal strength, download speed, and upload speed using the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 as our device. Signal strength is measured by the WiFi Analyzer app while the download and upload speeds are measured via Speedtest.net.

Conclusion

ASUS AiMesh Rotuers 100

Our tests show the clear effectiveness of the ASUS routers regardless of whether you have a single router like the GT-AX11000 Pro or use an AiMesh setup. Our test also shows great compatibility between these routers as the AX1000 Pro is priced at Php 29,630 with an obvious advantage in specs and features over the much more affordable RT-AX1800HP at Php 4,500. The extensive compatibility and seamless coverage give the user the flexibility to invest in a quality router that fits their budget today and upgrade later on should the need arise without having to dispose of the initial router. So, if you’re looking for a solution to your poor internet and wifi coverage at home, ASUS AiMesh routers are the answer thanks to their numerous advantage in coverage, performance, reliability, and upgradability.
