Spotted at 2019 Smart City Summit and Expo, this Smart Mike+ by Sabinetek records stereo audio and compatible with iOS and Android.
While this one looks like your run-of-the-mill Bluetooth headphones with mic, this device is built solely for recording purposes. You can record up to 15m despite its lightweight build at 8 grams and design. It works perfectly during the demo but there is also a dedicated application if you wish to maximize its functions.
As for its specifications, it records stereo quality recording and has 2 microphones, including adaptive noise suppression. I never got the chance to test it further, but we were told by Sabinetek that they are willing to send a test unit for our review. We missed their booth during our visit at CES 2019, but I saw a video demo by EMT. Check it out below:
Our thoughts: it’s great for content creators. If you only bring a smartphone when covering events, having this around will definitely upgrade your content-creation game. Bring a tripod, your smartphone and this microphone, then you’re good to go events like never before!
