Crisis Core Final Fantasy VII Reunion is now available digitally on Nintendo Switch 2, Square Enix announced. The remaster of the 2007 PlayStation Portable prequel brings Zack Fair’s story to Nintendo’s current console-handheld, with a boxed release to follow.
The physical edition of Crisis Core Final Fantasy VII Reunion arrives on September 23, 2026. Square Enix did not include Philippine pricing or local retail details in the announcement, so buyers here will have to wait for regional confirmation.
What the Switch 2 version brings
This is more than a straight port. Square Enix says the Switch 2 version carries a complete HD graphical overhaul of the character models, user interface, and backgrounds, alongside fully voiced dialogue in both English and Japanese. Combat has also been reworked into a more streamlined action system, and players can still trigger Limit Breaks and Summons.
The timing slots into the wider Final Fantasy VII Remake project. Crisis Core Final Fantasy VII Reunion lands ahead of Final Fantasy VII Revelation, the third and final entry in the remake series. Gadget Pilipinas previously reported that Revelation is set for April 8, 2027 across PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Square Enix also released a new trailer for the Switch 2 launch, which the publisher is hosting on its official channel: Crisis Core Final Fantasy VII Reunion trailer.
