Apple today announced the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, calling them the most advanced Pro iPhones it has ever made. The new iPhone 18 Pro lineup leads with a variable aperture 48MP Fusion camera, the largest battery gains in iPhone history on the Pro Max, and the A20 Pro chip.

“With iPhone 18 Pro, we’ve made advancements to the areas our users care about most: camera, performance, battery, and intelligence. And we didn’t just make incremental improvements in these areas — we took huge leaps forward to create the best Pro iPhone we’ve ever made,” said Greg Joswiak, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing.
A camera that controls light
The headline change is the 48MP Fusion Main camera, which now carries a variable aperture for the first time on iPhone. That brings creative control that was not possible before. The aperture can open up for shallow depth of field or stop down for sharper detail, and new Pro controls in the Camera app let users customize the experience. Apple says the upgrades extend across photo and video, including Photographic Styles and more versatile pro video tools.

Both models also ship with a smaller, more useful Dynamic Island.
A20 Pro and battery that lasts
Under the hood, the A20 Pro and a next-generation vapor chamber deliver what Apple calls the highest sustained performance in iPhone history.

Battery life takes a massive step forward: eSIM-only models deliver up to 36 hours of video playback on the iPhone 18 Pro and up to 45 hours on the Pro Max, which Apple says posts the largest battery increase ever on an iPhone. Fast charging tops up 50 percent in around 15 minutes wired, or 30 minutes wireless.
Siri AI and iOS 27
The iPhone 18 Pro lineup runs iOS 27 with Apple Intelligence, adding Siri AI as a beta starting Monday, September 14. Siri AI draws on personal context across messages, emails, and photos, uses onscreen awareness to act on what is on screen, and answers questions about virtually any topic. New camera tools improve composition after the shot, and Image Playground adds photorealistic imagery.
Pricing and availability
iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max come in black, silver, glacier, and an all-new burgundy, with storage from 256GB up to a new 2TB option.

US pricing starts at $1,199 for the iPhone 18 Pro and $1,299 for the iPhone 18 Pro Max. Pre-orders open Saturday, September 12 at 5 a.m. PT, following the September 9 event Apple confirmed last month. Availability begins Friday, September 18 in the US and other first-wave markets, and in 20 more countries and regions from September 25. In the Philippines, Apple lists the iPhone 18 Pro from PhP94,990 and the iPhone 18 Pro Max from PhP99,990, with 2TB options at PhP189,990 and PhP194,990.
