Xiaomi’s autumn launch event in China starts today, September 23, at 7pm Beijing time, and the Xiaomi 18 Pro series is the headliner. Manila shares that time zone, so Philippine viewers can follow the keynote at 7pm PHT.
Xiaomi has spent the past two weeks confirming details on its official channels, and the company’s own teaser posters paint a fairly complete picture of the two phones.
Dual 200MP Leica Cameras on Both Models
Both phones carry the same Leica-branded setup: a 200MP main camera on a 1/1.28-inch sensor, plus a 200MP f/2.4 periscope telephoto with a 1/1.56-inch sensor, 3.2x optical reach, a 75mm equivalent focal length, and 12cm macro focusing. Xiaomi claims the telephoto gathers 280 percent more light than the module on the 17 Pro and 83 percent more than the 17 Pro Max. Full-resolution samples went out on September 22, and both models keep the Versatile Back Screen introduced with last year’s lineup.
Xiaomi 18 Pro Series: Batteries, Display, and Silicon
The two phones differ mainly in battery capacity. Xiaomi’s official spec poster lists a 7,000mAh cell for the standard model and 8,500mAh for the Pro Max, both using the new Jinshajiang battery with 32 percent silicon content that Xiaomi credits for the higher energy density. Charging is expected to top out at 100W wired.
The display is a new-generation Super Pixel panel with a new luminescent system and a new green light-emitting material, which Xiaomi says cuts power draw while lifting brightness. Bezels shrink to 0.99mm, the frame is micro-arc quad-curved metal, and teasers point to a hardware-level privacy display.
On silicon, Qualcomm confirmed at Snapdragon Summit 2026 that the Pro Max debuts the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, while the standard model runs the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6. Both are 2nm platforms, and Xiaomi’s posters describe the chip as a 2nm GAA flagship platform without naming it.
Colors, Software, and What We Still Don’t Know
Three finishes are confirmed: black, white, and Starry River Blue. Both phones ship with HyperOS 4, and the rear screen returns with the always-on widgets and selfie framing tricks that made it useful on the previous generation.
Pricing is the big unknown. Xiaomi has not revealed Chinese prices, Philippine availability, or a global launch window, although Qualcomm says devices on the new platforms reach global markets later this year. Those numbers should land during tonight’s keynote, and we will update this story once the Xiaomi 18 Pro series is fully official.
