MediaTek has announced the Dimensity 9600M, expanding its latest flagship chipset lineup beyond the recently revealed Dimensity 9600 Pro. This new SoC aims to bring advanced software and AI capabilities to a broader range of premium smartphones.
What the MediaTek Dimensity 9600M delivers
From a hardware standpoint, the 9600M is essentially a repackaged Dimensity 9500. It is built on TSMC’s 3nm N3P process and features identical core components. The chip retains the all-large-core CPU architecture, peaking at a 4.21GHz frequency on its C1-Ultra core. It also keeps the Arm Mali-G1 Ultra MC12 GPU and the APU 990 NPU unchanged.

Other specification details
While the hardware remains familiar, the 9600M introduces notable software upgrades. The chipset is now equipped with MediaTek’s latest Agentic AI Engine and Dimensity Scheduling Engine, optimising it for heavier AI workloads. It supports advanced features like 320MP camera sensors, Wi-Fi 7, and Tri-port MIPI for Tri-Fold Displays.
Pricing and local availability are still unknown, though the first Dimensity 9600M devices, including the vivo X500 and OPPO Find X10, are expected to launch later this quarter.
