The Computer Entertainment Supplier’s Association (CESA) has named the 10 winners of the Future Division of the Japan Game Awards 2026, an award reserved for unreleased titles that drew the strongest anticipation at Tokyo Game Show 2026.
The winners were announced on the Tokyo Game Show 2026 event stage on September 20, with the latest footage of each title shown alongside remarks from the teams behind them. The list leans on new entries in long-running Japanese series, plus a pair of brand-new properties making their first public appearance.
How the Japan Game Awards 2026 Future Division winners were picked
Eligible titles were unreleased works presented or exhibited at Tokyo Game Show 2026, held from September 17 to 21, including titles shown by video and video game hardware. Online voting ran from 10:00 a.m. on September 17 to 4:00 p.m. on September 19 through the awards’ official website, and anyone could vote once. From those votes, the Japan Game Awards selection committee reviewed the titles that generated the strongest support and selected the 10 winners.
The winning titles
- ACE COMBAT 8: WINGS OF THEVE (Bandai Namco Entertainment) for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Steam.
- GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT (Bandai Namco Entertainment) for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Steam.
- Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse (Konami Digital Entertainment) for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC and Steam.
- Danganronpa 2×2 (Spike Chunsoft) for Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam and Epic Games Store.
- STRANGER THAN HEAVEN (SEGA) for Xbox Game Pass, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, Xbox Cloud, Steam and PlayStation 5.
- FINAL FANTASY VII REVELATION (Square Enix) for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, Steam and Epic Games Store.
- Persona 4 Revival (Atlus) for Xbox Game Pass, Xbox Series X|S, Windows, PlayStation 5, Steam and Nintendo Switch 2.
- Magical Girl Taboo Village (Re,AER and Good Smile Company) for Nintendo Switch and Steam.
- MONSTER HUNTER WILDS: ASCENDANCE (Capcom) for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and Steam.
- Romancing SaGa 3: Destinies United (Square Enix) for Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC and Steam.
What the award does not tell you
Every title on the list is still unreleased, and CESA has attached no release window, price or Philippine availability date to any of the 10 winners. Read the award as a signal of audience buzz rather than a launch calendar. Nintendo Switch 2 appears in five of the 10 platform lists, which says more about how publishers are lining up their next slate than about any confirmed date.
