During the free weekend, players can experience the new challenge league, Runes of Aldur, while checking out major endgame updates. The expansion is available on PC, Steam, Xbox, and the Epic Games Store, and the promo offers players a chance to sample the game’s latest systems before deciding whether to pick up the Early Access Supporter Pack at the discounted price.
Expansion Features
Return of the Ancients adds the Runes of Aldur league, where players can complete eight in-game challenges to earn a piece of the Knight of Aldur Armor Set and a totem decoration for their Hideout. These rewards are cosmetic only and do not affect character power. The expansion also brings a reshaped endgame experience, new Uniques, expanded crafting systems, and a reimagined Atlas Tree.
Grinding Gear Games is also introducing two new Ascendancy classes, the Martial Artist and Spirit Walker. Other additions include improved campaign replayability, a new Build Planner, and several quality-of-life features designed to support progression throughout the journey.
Discord Quest Reward
Players can also unlock a Discord Quest reward by playing Path of Exile 2 for 15 minutes. Those who complete the quest can earn the Runeseeker Avatar Decoration. The discord quest can be accepted from 29 May 10AM to June 5, 5PM PDT, and progress must be tracked through the Discord desktop app.
