HONOR 600 Review 3

Contents (maximize to view)

The HONOR 600 is poised as a practical upgrade rather than a dramatic reinvention. It improves on the key things most people care about: Display, performance, camera, and battery, while keeping the overall experience familiar. That makes it easy to recommend in some areas, but it also means the phone does not feel especially bold or original.

What HONOR seems to be aiming for here is balance. The phone is meant to handle everyday use comfortably, offer enough gaming headroom for mainstream titles, and deliver strong battery life without asking the user to compromise too much. It succeeds on those terms more often than not, but there are a few choices that keep it from feeling fully polished.

Design and Build Quality

HONOR 600 Review 23

The HONOR 600 keeps the same flat design language as its predecessor – which means you get a clean and modern silhouette. It’s safe and functional, but not particularly exciting. The phone also appears to borrow heavily from another brand’s visual style, and that works against its identity because it makes the device feel less distinct than it should.

There is a dedicated AI button apart from the power button and volume rocker, and it can be customized to trigger several HONOR features. Use it for the camera, burst shots, video recording, AI Settings Agent, AI Photos Agent, AI Memories, or Google Lens. The problem is that while it supports Short Press, Double Press, and Long Press actions, it still cannot launch other apps, which limits how useful it really is.

From a durability standpoint, it boasts IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings, which is impressive and should give buyers extra confidence in the phone’s resilience. On the other hand, the lack of a headphone jack and expandable storage makes it feel like a standard modern smartphone rather than one that goes the extra mile.

HONOR 600 Review 51

The HONOR 600’s 6.57-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate is one of the highlights, delivering rich colors, deep blacks, and good visibility under direct sunlight. It is well suited for media, gaming, and everyday scrolling.

Performance

The HONOR 600 packs a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, a welcome upgrade over the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 in the HONOR 400. For everyday use, that’s more than enough for most users, meaning your app switching, browsing, streaming, and general multitasking should feel responsive, though the phone is not trying to compete with high-end performance devices.

The available memory and storage options are reasonable, with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage. That gives the phone enough breathing room for long-term use and a fairly generous ceiling for users who keep a lot of apps, photos, or media on device. Where the phone starts to show its limits is under heavier workloads, especially if you push multitasking or gaming harder than average.

HONOR 600 Review 85

Gaming performance is respectable. Honor of Kings runs at its highest preset without major issues, and Honkai: Star Rail is playable at medium settings. The phone does warm up during gaming, but not to an uncomfortable level, which suggests its thermal behavior is controlled enough for regular play.

That said, this is still a midrange phone, so buyers expecting sustained high-end gaming performance should probably look elsewhere.

Camera

The 200MP main camera of the HONOR 600 is a step up from the HONOR 400, and generally produces detailed, sharp, photos even in slightly less than ideal conditions. You also get a 12MP ultrawide unit, but the quality is only decent at best. Video recording for both the front and rear cameras max out at 4K 30 fps.

Software

HONOR 600 Review 19

The HONOR 600 runs MagicOS 10 on top of Android 16, plus a promise of 3 years of software updates. That puts it in a current software position, and the interface should feel familiar to anyone who has used HONOR phones before. The main appeal here is not a radical software overhaul, but a collection of useful tools layered into a polished experience.

HONOR 600 Review 89

A big part of HONOR’s pitch is its AI features, and this phone continues that trend with AI Eraser, AI Upscale, AI Retouch, AI Outpainting, and AI Image to Video. These tools sound flashy, but they do have practical value when used for the right purpose. AI Image to Video, in particular, seems like one of the more creative additions, though it is clearly aimed at users who want to experiment rather than those who need straightforward phone functions.

The interface is generally clean, though you still get a folder of shortcuts that could’ve been optional.

Battery

HONOR 600 Review 87

Battery life is one of the strongest reasons to consider the HONOR 600. The phone scored almost 17 hours in PCMark’s Work 3.0 benchmark, which is a strong result for a device in this category. That benchmark reflects a mix of real-world tasks such as data manipulation, photo and video editing, and web browsing, so the result suggests excellent endurance for normal daily use.

The HONOR 600 supports 80W HONOR SuperCharge, which can fully recharge the phone in around 1.5 hours. That is not the fastest result in the market, but it is still a good pace, especially given the size of the battery and the performance level of the phone. For most users, this should be fast enough to keep the phone convenient without forcing frequent long charging sessions.

The main disappointment is the absence of wireless charging. Considering the price, especially on the higher variants, that omission feels more noticeable than it might on a cheaper device.

Verdict

The HONOR 600 is a well-rounded phone that gets several important fundamentals right. Its display is excellent, performance is good for everyday use, battery life is strong, and the camera system delivers sharp, detailed shots even in less-than-ideal conditions. If your priorities are practicality, endurance, and a smooth daily experience, it has a lot going for it.

At the same time, the phone is held back by a few frustratingly conservative choices. The design does not feel distinctive enough, and the extra AI button has limited usefulness. The lack of wireless charging also stands out more than it should at this level.

Then there’s the price. At PHP 28,999, it’s really pushing the tag for a mid-range phone. Now, this can be attributed to the on-going RAM crisis, which is expected to affect prices of many devices. In the end, the HONOR 600 is easy to like, but not especially easy to remember.
