AMD has announced new products, including the AMD Ryzen PRO 8040 Series and the AMD Ryzen PRO 8000 Series desktop processor, which will expand its commercial AI PC portfolio.

These processors offer advanced x86 processors for business laptops and mobile workstations, providing more dedicated AI processing power than previous generations. AMD Ryzen PRO 8040 Series mobile processors provide efficient processing for AI workloads, with up to eight high-performance cores and advanced 4nm technology. With AMD Ryzen AI and AMD RDNA™ 3 graphics, these processors offer 72% faster performance and 84% less power for video conferencing. They also incorporate WiFi-7 technology, setting a new industry standard.

AMD Ryzen 9 PRO 8945HS, featuring eight cores, 16 threads, 24MB cache, and Radeon 780M graphics, is a powerful processor for resource-intensive applications like technical computing and multimedia content creation.

The new Ryzen PRO 8040 Series mobile processors are expected to be available from OEM partners including HP and Lenovo starting in Q2, 2024.
