MediaTek has announced that it will introduce the MediaTek Dimensity 8300 chipset, an upper mid-range SoC on November 21. This comes after the launch of the company’s flagship chipset, the Dimensity 9300.

What do we know so far about the MediaTek Dimensity 8300?

Well, officially not much. However, there are reports from China that hint that the next-generation Dimensity 8000 chipset will have a 1+3+4 core architecture. It is said to have ARMv9 cores, similar to the flagship Dimensity 9300 but with lower clock speeds and toned-down cores.

It is also said that the Cortex-X3 prime core runs at 2.8GHz. This is joined by three Cortex-A715 performance cores at 2.4GHz and four Cortex-A510 efficiency cores clocked at 1.6GHz.

The Dimensity 8300 is believed to feature an Arm Mali G52 MC6 GPU running at 850MHz.

MediaTek will be unveiling the Dimensity 8300 via a live stream on Weibo on November 21, we’ll definitely learn more about the chipset by then.
