Huawei Philippines has announced its sixth Seeds for the Future program which includes over 60 students from 15 universities and Smart Sweep members schools joining.

The Seeds for the Future program of Huawei is an initiative that aims to help cultivate local young ICT talent to have skills and mindset needed to be competitive in the workplace of the future. In addition, it allows young people to learn about advanced technologies in the ICT industry and accumulate ICT expertise and skill.

50 deserving students from more than 500 aspirants from the country in the past five years took the journey to China to join the program. Due to the global pandemic, the selected students will go through a five-day online training, classes, and virtual tours through the online system.

“HUAWEI has been almost 20 years in the Philippines, through Seeds for the Future, and also as an enduring commitment to a sustainable world, we aim to bring digital skills to more people. Together we will build an open and collaborative ecosystem that thrives on shared success,” said Jay Chen, Vice President of Huawei Asia Pacific Regio.

Seeds for the Future is Huawei’s flagship global CSR program. The program was launched in the Philippines in 2015.
