MediaTek recently announced the Dimensity 720 SoC, with an aim of bringing 5G to more consumers at more pocket-friendly price points.
Dimensity 720 in Detail
The 7nm chip employs two Cortex-A76 cores and six Cortex-A55 cores at up to 2Ghz, along with a Mali-G57 MC3 GPU. It supports displays of up to 2520 x 1080 resolution, up to 90Hz refresh rate, up to 12GB of LPDDR4X 2133MHz RAM, and UFS 2.2. storage.
It offers support for up to a 20MP+16MP dual-cameras or a 64MP sensor, 4K at 30fps video encoding and playback, Wi-Fi 5, and Bluetooth 5.1.
Devices powered by the new SoC are expected to arrive in the following months.
