We all know O+ USA as a as a local brand which sells fair quality handsets for the budget segment. Now though, it seems that the once prolific player in the industry has just called it quits.

To start off, we haven’t really seen any new products from them since March, and the last update on their Facebook page was still last July. John Nieves of Unbox posted about his thoughts a while back, and we just couldn’t help but agree on some of his points.

Moreover, their products are nowhere to be seen in Eat Bulaga, and are no longer being endorsed by Tito Vic and Joey.

What’s more confusing is that before all of this, they even asked us for a feature video, which can be seen below:

I may not be a business expert, but as a consumer, I think their products had potential. It’s just that most of the time, their prices are just way too high. And with competition getting tougher and tougher with the arrival of more players, it seems that they weren’t prepared, and were not able to make adjustments to their strategies.

If all of this is true, then I do hope that other players learn, and step up their game. Still, it feels sad to see a great brand fall.
