[su_dropcap style=”flat” size=”4″]D[/su_dropcap]uring an event at Nest, BGC earlier this evening, LG Philippines finally completed the LG G3 family with 3 surprisingly affordable phablets and a Android Wear-powered watch. The new smartphones – G3 Beat and G3 Stylus – are variants of the most sought after flaghship phone of LG, the LG G3. Meanwhile, the G Watch R is the latest smartwatch of LG, which features a round watch face and stainless steel body.

Note-taking made even smarter with LG G3 Stylus

The LG G3 Stylus is LG’s answer to Samsung’s Galaxy Note series. Specs-wise, the G3 Stylus may not stand a chance against the Galaxy Note 4, but it’s the smartest choice for the budget conscious. Priced only at PhP16,990, the pen-enabled smartphone of LG is very much akin to the LG G3‘s looks.

There’s literally a stylus – which LG calls Rubberdium stylus pen – that slips inside the device. Users can easily pair the stylus with LG Quickmemo+ to take down notes and doodle crazy ideas. It’s simply the perfect pair to G3 Stylus’ 5.5-inch qHD IPS display (960 x 540 resolution).

Specs-wise it isn’t exactly as impressive as the current flagship smartphone, LG G3, in order to make the device affordable. It has a 1.3Ghz Quad-Core Snapdragon processor with 8gb ROM and 1gb RAM. The phone isn’t LTE capable, but it can take 2 sims. In terms of camera, its 13MP rear camera is complemented with Auto Focus; and it has a 1.3MP front camera. It does not have Laser Autofocus, which some may find a bit underwhelming; but that’s something that many can live without.

LG G3 Stylus is priced at PhP16,990; and it’s available in 3 different colors: black, white and gold. Which color would you pick?

LG G3 Beat can potentially beat flagship devices of local smartphone companies

Unlike the G3 Stylus, G3 Beat has a smaller screen but it with better resolution (as expected). It also has Laser Auto Focus, which the G3 Stylus obviously lacks. According to GSMArena and Fonearena, G3 Beat also has NFC, which I failed to look and verify during the event.

G3 Beat is the smallest in the G3 family, but its specs aren’t very much inferior than the G3 Stylus. Its processor is clocked lower at 1.2Ghz, but it has the same internal memory (8gb). However, the G3 Beat has slightly lower RAM – 1gb LPDDR2 vs Stylus’ LPDDR3. The latter are both low-power RAMs, but LPDDR3 is more power efficient and more capable of processing data rate.

G3 Beat is also dual SIM capable just like the G3 Stylus. It is not LTE compatible, so you’re stuck with HSPA+ speeds. Available colors are Metallic Black, Silk White and Shine Gold.

In terms of price, G3 Beat costs lesser than G3 Stylus – PhP13,990. That is even more affordable than the recently announced Starmobile KnightX.

G Watch R is probably the best news we heard tonight. You will probably remember that LG did not officially bring and sell the LG G Watch in the Philippines after announcing it in July 2014. Just tonight, LG Philippines announced that they are finally bringing the much-awaited smartwatches – G Watch and G Watch for PhP8,990 and PhP13,990 respectively.

LG G Watch R is packed with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 with 512mb RAM and 4GB internal memory. It’s a custom chipset for smartwatches that essentially makes Android Wear tick. It’s the same chipset that powers the Asus Zenwatch and Galaxy Gear S.

The watch has a 1.3-inch POLED Display with 320 x 320 resolution. It is IP67, which basically makes it dust and water resistant. It’s battery is 410mAh, which should be enough to last you more than 2 days with ambient lighting disabled. It also has 9-axis sensors, barometer and heart rate sensor.
