Apple has confirmed an October 13 event for new smart home products, with the tagline “Welcome home.” The event was the subject of a late-September rumor claiming the company would unveil the HomePad or Home Hub, the HomePod mini 2, and a new Apple TV 4K box. The official teaser video is available on X.
All three products are expected to support the new Siri AI.
What to expect
The HomePad or Home Hub is expected to carry a 6-inch square display, with two versions planned: one for a desk or countertop and one for wall mounting. Its base would have a built-in speaker, and the screen would be held up by a metal arm.
The HomePod mini 2 and the new Apple TV 4K box arrive well after their predecessors: the original HomePod mini was released in 2020, and the current Apple TV 4K box arrived in 2022.
