RuneScape Dragonwilds is now available on PC, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and Xbox Series X|S, the first RuneScape title in the franchise’s 25-year history to launch on a console platform. Jagex shipped the open-world survival and crafting game on 15 September 2026, after 18 months in Steam Early Access.

More than 1.5 million copies in Early Access

The game sold over 1.5 million copies during that Early Access period, which introduced players to Ashenfall, the previously unexplored continent of Gielinor. Jagex, the Cambridge, UK studio behind the RuneScape series, built Ashenfall as the setting for the release’s high-fantasy crafting adventure.

Day One on Game Pass and PlayStation Plus

RuneScape Dragonwilds is also landing on subscription services at launch. It is available today through Xbox Game Pass on the Premium, Ultimate, and PC Game Pass tiers, and on PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium for PlayStation 5 owners.

Gadget Pilipinas reported in August that Jagex had confirmed the Day One Game Pass placement for the game.

A first for a 25-year-old franchise

RuneScape has been a PC-first series since the early 2000s, so Dragonwilds is the entry that finally puts the franchise on PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo hardware alongside PC. The launch trailer and the official asset kit are published on the game’s official website.

For Jagex, RuneScape Dragonwilds now has to prove itself across three consoles and two subscription catalogs at once, a different test from Early Access, where the audience was already on Steam.
