Sony Philippines recently held Alpha Fest 2026 at Foro de Intramuros, bringing together hundreds of photographers, filmmakers, and content creators for a full day of learning and hands-on experiences. The event combined educational sessions, interactive shooting activities, and product showcases while introducing some of Sony’s newest additions to its Alpha imaging lineup. It also served as a venue for creators to connect with industry professionals and fellow members of the Alpha community.
Sony showcases latest a7rVI and FX5 Cameras
One of the event’s highlights was the unveiling of Sony’s latest imaging products, including the Alpha 7R VI, FE 100-400mm F4.5 GM OSS, RX10 V, and the newly announced FX5 Cinema Line camera. The RX10 V arrives as Sony’s newest all-in-one superzoom camera with a 24-600mm ZEISS lens, AI-powered Real-time Recognition Autofocus, up to 30fps blackout-free continuous shooting, and 4K 120p recording. Meanwhile, the FX5 expands Sony’s Cinema Line with a full-frame stacked sensor, the latest BIONZ XR processor, AI-assisted features, Open Gate recording, internal 16-bit X-OCN, and up to 4K 240p recording for professional video production.
Sony Industry KOLs Stage Talk
Beyond the product announcements, Alpha Fest 2026 focused on education through sessions led by some of the country’s respected photographers and filmmakers. Attendees learned wildlife photography from Win Magsino, wedding and portrait photography from Jiggie Alejandrino, street photography from Martin San Diego, and landscape photography from Nicco Valenzuela. Wedding filmmaker Jason Magbanua and portrait photographer Manny Librodo also shared their approaches to visual storytelling, giving participants insights they could immediately apply to their own work.
The event also featured guest speakers from both the local and international photography community. National Geographic Explorer Noel Guevara discussed conservation photography and documenting marine life using the Sony Alpha 7R VI, while award-winning Thai street photographer Tavepong Pratoomwong led a special session on capturing compelling everyday scenes. Travel videographer Miki Labarda also joined the program to talk about her journey as a content creator and how events such as Alpha Fest continue to support the growing creator community in the Philippines.
Hands-on experiences round out the Alpha Fest experience
Outside the main stage prograam, attendees can explore experience zones where they can test Sony Alpha cameras and G Master lenses, join guided shooting activities, and interacted with fellow creators. Sony also announced that pre-orders for the Sony RX10 V and the new Sony FX5 remain available in the Philippines, accompanied by limited-time promotional offers for buyers.
