Apple has announced that its Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) event will return this summer, running from June 8 through June 12, 2026. While the event will remain primarily online, the company is planning a special in-person experience at Apple Park on opening day for select developers and students.

The company explicitly teased “incredible updates,” including “AI advancements.” This confirmation suggests that AI will be the focus of this year’s keynote. Industry experts anticipate the debut of iOS 27, macOS 27, and watchOS 27, with a heavy emphasis on a “Siri 2.0” overhaul. Rumors suggest the virtual assistant will become more context-aware and deeply integrated across apps, potentially powered by new on-device “Apple Intelligence” models.
In addition, the conference will feature more than 100 technical sessions and labs, enabling the global developer community to interact with the brand’s engineers. The company also confirmed that Swift Student Challenge winners will be eligible to apply for the in-person event in Cupertino.
While some reports indicate iOS 27 may prioritize system stability and bug fixes, the explicit mention of AI signals that Apple is ready to challenge the generative AI space. The keynote is scheduled to start on June 8 at 10:00 a.m. PT.
