Xiaomi is expected to introduce the Xiaomi 17 Ultra sometime before the end of the year or early next year. Ahead of any announcement, though, a render of the Ultra’s Photography Kit surfaced in two colors and reveals something quite surprising about its camera module.
Xiaomi 17 Ultra Render
The renders reveal at least two colors – beige and black. What’s more surprising is that the camera module around the back only features three camera lenses despite the seeming four-lens setup.
The Xiaomi 15 Ultra, in comparison, used four lenses, which included dual telephoto lenses.

A recent leak reported, though, that the upcoming Ultra device will use a higher resolution lens rather than rely on the 50MP 3x telephoto lens. The report claims that it will use a 50MP OmniVision OVX10500U main camera, a 200MP Samsung S5KHPE telephoto lens, and a 50MP OmniVision OV50M or Samsung S5KJN5 ultrawide sensor.

If this is accurate, then the Xiaomi 17 Ultra will actually have fewer lenses, but these are larger and more advanced sensors compared to its predecessor.
Meanwhile, the front snapper is still expected to be the same 50MP OmniVision OV50ME lens.
Xiaomi has yet to reveal a date and even mention the Ultra device, so we’ll have to wait. But it is believed to launch either in December or early January.
