The Infinix GT series aims to bridge the gap between casual and hardcore mobile gaming, and its latest entry, the Infinix GT 30, carries the powerful mission statement: “Outplay the Rest” with the core philosophy that “Everyone can be a Gaming Master.” As the Official Smartphone Partner of the MPL, the GT 30 is positioned as a serious high-performance contender rooted deeply in the esports arena.

We took the Infinix GT 30 for a spin to see if its console-level features, including the exciting new shoulder triggers and the powerful MediaTek Dimensity 7400 5G chipset, make it the ultimate high-performance choice for Filipino gamers on a tight budget.

Infinix GT 30 5G – Great Gaming Experience on a Tight Budget is Possible

Design: The “Cyber Design” Aesthetics

The GT 30 immediately grabs attention with its striking “cyber design” and exclusive GT eSports totem. Unlike phones that shy away from a gaming identity, the Infinix GT 30 embraces it fully.

The most notable design element is the interactive white lighting integrated into the back panel, or the Mechanical Light Waves feature. This isn’t just a static feature; it covers 14 system scenarios with over 20 unique light designs, flashing for notifications, calls, and game boosts. It’s a bold statement that aligns perfectly with young, tech-savvy users.

The phone is available in four distinct colorways: Cyber Blue, Pulse Green, Shadow Ash, and Blade White. Pulse Green was the colorway of the unit we reviewed, and we wish it were a little bit more noticeable. It was really hard to notice even in bright lighting conditions.

Console-Level Control: The GT Trigger

This is arguably the Infinix GT 30’s biggest advantage and a major game-changer: the GT Trigger.

These exclusive capacitive dual shoulder triggers offer a true console-like control experience. They boast an extremely low 7ms hardware latency and a responsive 520 Hz touch sampling rate, matching the responsiveness of high-end gaming phone triggers. This allows for rapid-fire actions in FPS games (like simultaneous aiming and shooting) and complex combos in MOBAs.

Beyond gaming, the triggers transform into a powerful “9 + 1” shortcut suite for daily life, enabling users to quickly launch apps, snap photos, or toggle settings, thereby extending the phone’s efficiency beyond the gaming realm.

Display and Gaming Experience

Visual experience is critical, and the Infinix GT 30 does not disappoint. It features a large 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution (1224 x 2720) and an ultra-smooth 144Hz refresh rate.

For the Filipino market and mobile gamers in general, the biggest highlight is the MLBB Certified 120 FPS status. This certification ensures that gamers can experience Mobile Legends: Bang Bang at a fluid 120 frames per second, providing a noticeable competitive edge.

The display also comes with TÜV Low Blue Light certification and 2304Hz PWM Dimming, which significantly reduces flicker and eye strain during extended nighttime use.

Other games that are certified for a high frame rate experience:

  • PUBGM – 90 FPS
  • ROV – 120 FPS
  • Standoff2 – 120 FPS
  • HOK – 120 FPS
  • BGMI – 90 FPS
  • CODM – 90 FPS
  • FreeFire – 120 FPS (including MAX version)
  • Delta Force – 90 FPS

Camera – Good Enough for a Gaming Centric Phone

The Infinx GT 30’s cameras are more than up to the task. In fact, you could even say they’re pretty great for a budget phone, and I wouldn’t argue with you. On the back, you get a solid 64MP main camera with an f/1.75 aperture and autofocus. It’s paired with an 8MP ultra-wide camera that has a 111.4-degree field of view.

One notable feature of this phone is its ability to record 4K video at 30fps from both the front and rear cameras, a rarity in its price category. Additionally, it includes an “Ultra Steady” mode for stabilization with minimal cropping. The photo quality from both the main and ultra-wide cameras is consistent, showcasing sharp details and vibrant colors, indicating that Infinix prioritized high-quality imaging for users.

Indoor photography may exhibit some graininess, but colors remain vibrant, even with 2x zoom. Low-light performance isn’t stellar, with night mode occasionally overexposing bright lights. While lacking optical image stabilization, 4K videos can be shaky unless a tripod is used, although Ultra Steady mode helps. The 13MP front camera captures great selfies in good lighting, featuring a beauty mode and adjustable Portrait mode for background blur, which is satisfactory given the price.

Software and AI

The Infinix GT 30 runs on Android 15 with Infinix’s XOS 15 skin on top. It’s a clean and snappy interface that feels great to use. You’ll even find an MLBB character wallpaper right out of the box, thanks to their partnership with MPL.

There are still a few pre-installed apps, and you might see some push notifications with ads, but it is still quite an improvement from earlier iterations of the phone series.

AI features provide you with lots of creative freedom. You can generate custom wallpapers from text or even remix your own images. The suite of built-in AI tools includes things like Folax Voice, Smart Touch, a Call Assistant that translates and summarizes in real-time, a Document Assistant, and even Circle to Search. Infinix promises two years of major OS updates and three years of security patches.

Performance and Benchmarks: Powered by MediaTek Dimensity 7400 5G

Powering the Infinix GT 30 is the very capable MediaTek Dimensity 7400 5G chipset. Reports claim this chipset delivers over 10% stronger performance compared to key competitors in its class. With an AnTuTu benchmark score of 981,490, the Infinix GT 30 promises stable and smooth operation not just for demanding games, but also for everyday multitasking like seamless scrolling and multi-image loading.

Crucially for heavy users, Infinix has integrated a self-developed 3D VCC cooling system with a massive 20,000mm² heat dissipation area. This is a significant upgrade designed to maintain peak performance and prevent thermal throttling during marathon gaming sessions.

Other benchmark scores:

  • Geekbench – 1057 Single-Core Score, 3,183 Multi-Core Score
  • 3DMark Wild Life Extreme – 3,898

Battery Life: Powering the Game

To support its high-refresh-rate display and powerful chipset, the Infinix GT 30 is fitted with a substantial 5500mAh battery. This capacity is more than sufficient to power users through a full day of demanding work, content streaming, or gaming. It also includes support for smart charging, which optimizes the charging process for both safety and longevity.

As a massive bonus, especially for early buyers, every purchase of the Infinix GT 30 comes with a complimentary GT 30 MagCooling Fan. This limited-time freebie is essential for players who push the phone to its limits, ensuring maximum performance retention.

Verdict

By integrating console-level GT Triggers with the very capable MediaTek Dimensity 7400 5G and a fluid MLBB-certified 120 FPS 1.5K AMOLED display, the Infinix GT 30 presents an unmatched value proposition in the high-performance segment, especially for its price point. Its commitment to the esports aesthetic via its cyber design and interactive lighting, coupled with the inclusion of advanced cooling and a large 5500mAh battery, makes it a dedicated gaming machine that doesn’t forget about everyday utility.
