Unleashing the Gaming Master

At the heart of the Infinix GT 30’s gaming prowess is the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 5G chipset, which delivers stable and smooth performance even under heavy gaming loads. This is complemented by a 1.5K and 144Hz AMOLED display. The display also features an ultra-fast 2160Hz touch sampling rate for instant responsiveness.

The device boasts exclusive capacitive dual shoulder triggers, which provide a console-level control experience with a 520Hz Touch-sampling rate and just 7ms of hardware latency, enabling you to execute lightning-fast actions such as shooting and aiming with optimized algorithms for reliable touch with wet or oily fingers

Additional quirks of the GT Trigger include:

  • MOBA Games: Triggers enable rapid actions like toggling the map, switching gear, or swapping revival armor for blade upgrades, keeping you one step ahead in fast-paced battles.
  • FPS Games: You can perform four- or six-finger operations, enabling advanced moves such as quick scope-crouch, scope-shoot, aim-shoot, and burst fire with ease.
  •  Quick Launch: A long press on both shoulders, from any interface, instantly launches a preset game (games must be pre-added in XArena)

Moreover, the Infinix GT 30 has also achieved high-frame-rate certification from multiple game publishers, enabling it to unlock higher frame rates and graphics options for a superior experience in supported titles, such as Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Call of Duty: Mobile, Free Fire, ROV,  PUBGM, HOK, BGMI, and Delta Force.

To keep the phone running cool during intense gaming sessions, it’s equipped with Infinix’s self-developed 3D VCC cooling system, which has a total heat dissipation area of 20,000mm².

Beyond Gaming: Powering Everyday Life

The MediaTek Dimensity 7400 chipset’s performance ensures seamless scrolling and browsing, with no lag when loading multiple images. The crisp AMOLED display, with its natural and ultra-smooth touch response, makes for a crystal-clear and enjoyable video entertainment experience. The 5500mAh battery is designed to power through busy days of work, streaming, or travel.

The GT Trigger’s utility also goes beyond gaming. It offers a “9 + 1” shortcut suite with nine built-in system functions and one customizable third-party app shortcut. For example, a single tap can take a photo, while a long press enables burst shooting. It is also the only phone with triggers at this price point.

Other utility scenarios for the GT Trigger include:

  • Customizable app quick launch: allows you to quickly access nine system functions (photo, flash, silent mode, etc.), as well as a custom app quick launch, even when the screen is locked.
  • Video Viewing Instructions: Double-tap to pause and play, long-press to record or fast-forward a video (for top apps like Netflix, etc.).
  • Quick screen recording
  • Anti-Accidental Touch Design: In the vertical screen mode, only the upper shoulder key can invoke the function, preventing accidental touch operations caused by incorrect lowering of the shoulder key during the phone-holding process

So What’s Good about it?

Infinix GT 30 Feature (5)

The first positive feature is its 6.78-inch LTPS AMOLED display, which features a 144Hz refresh rate and up to 4,500 nits of brightness, ensuring visibility in sunlight. It includes customizable GT Shoulder Triggers for tactile feedback and a 5,500 mAh battery with 45W wired and 10W reverse charging capabilities.

To highlight its gaming aesthetics, the phone is available in four colorways with a “cyber design” theme. The Cyber Blue and Pulse Green colorways come with a design akin to the GT 30 Pro Gaming Master Edition, while the Shadow Ash and Blade White colorways showcase the same design as the vanilla Pro version.

Other features include an optical in-display fingerprint scanner, an IP64 rating for some level of protection against dust and water, and the inclusion of an IR blaster, which is a convenient feature often missing from modern smartphones.

What Could Be improved?

While the phone offers many strengths, a few aspects could be considered drawbacks. The Cyber Mecha 2.0 design, although unique with its customizable LED lights, might not feel as premium as devices made with more durable materials.

The camera setup might not be as robust as some of its competitors, with a dual rear setup consisting of a 64MP main and 8MP ultrawide, and a 13MP selfie camera. For users looking for a top-tier camera, this might be a point of consideration.

The device runs on Android 15-based XOS 15, which some users might find to be a heavily customized and potentially bloated interface compared to stock Android.

Summary of Notable Features:

  • Unique Cyber Mecha 2.0 design and customizable white LED lights for notifications
  • 6.78-inch LTPS AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of 4,500 nits, protected by Gorilla Glass 7i
  • Dimensity 7400 SoC, with 8GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage
  • Includes customizable GT Shoulder Triggers for mobile gaming with haptic feedback
  • 5,500 mAh battery supporting 45W wired and 10W reverse wired charging
  • Dual rear camera setup: 64MP main sensor, 8MP ultrawide lens; 13MP front-facing camera
  • optical in-display fingerprint scanner, IP64 dust and water resistance, Hi-Res Audio-certified speakers, and an IR blaster.

The Infinix GT 30 successfully bridges the gap between a high-performance gaming device and a practical, stylish smartphone for daily use. It achieved this by packing the device with a high-performance SoC, combined with its utility quirks like the GT shoulder triggers, which can be used as an alternate way to navigate the phone’s UI alongside its high-tech design language. Everyday carry devices shouldn’t always look boring or plain, right?
