Qualcomm has launched the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, a new chip designed to power the next wave of flagship Android smartphones. Built on an advanced 3nm process promising significant performance and efficiency gains.

The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 features a third-generation Oryon CPU with a new core configuration of two Prime and six Performance cores. This architecture delivers a 20% performance boost while increasing efficiency by 35% compared to its predecessor.
Moreover, the Adreno GPU delivers a 23% performance increase and a 20% reduction in power consumption. Furthermore, the Hexagon NPU is now 37% faster, enhancing on-device AI capabilities.

In addition to core performance, it also supports Advanced Professional Video (APV) and a fully computational video pipeline known as Dragon Fusion. The 20-bit Spectra ISP improves dynamic range for higher quality photos and videos. For audio, Snapdragon Audio Sense offers professional-grade features, including advanced wind noise rejection.
Leading manufacturers such as Honor, OnePlus, Samsung, and Xiaomi are expected to launch the first devices powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 in the coming weeks.
