GPD has officially unveiled the GPD Win 5, a new handheld gaming console set to redefine portable gaming with its powerful desktop-class performance. Slated for an October 17, 2025, release, the device is now available for pre-order.
GPD Win 5 Handheld Gaming Console
The GPD Win 5 is powered by an AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 processor, featuring 16 Zen 5 cores and integrated Radeon 8060S graphics. The console boasts a 7-inch, 1920×1080 IPS display with a 120Hz refresh rate, ensuring smooth and vibrant visuals. It supports up to 128 GB of LPDDR5X memory and up to 4 TB of SSD storage, with additional slots for expandable memory.

A notable innovation is the detachable 80Wh battery pack, which reduces the device’s weight from 915g to 565g for stationary use. Designed for serious gamers, the console includes zero-dead-zone capacitive joysticks and Hall Effect triggers.

Performance benchmarks indicate the Win 5 can surpass many high-end desktop processors and even the NVIDIA RTX 4060 Mobile in certain scenarios. The estimated price is under USD 2,000.
