Samsung‘s Galaxy Z Fold7 recently launched without S Pen support, a decision attributed to the company’s drive for a thinner and lighter device. Kang Min-seok, MX Managing Director, confirmed this trade-off was made in response to strong consumer demand for enhanced portability.
Samsung S Pen Coming Back?
Despite its absence in the latest model, the S Pen is not being permanently phased out for foldables. Min-seok assured that Samsung is actively engaged in research and development to create a thinner and more innovative S Pen technology.

The company aims for a “perfect product balance” in upcoming Z Fold iterations, which could include the return of S Pen integration alongside advancements in battery capacity and charging speeds.
This strategic shift prioritizes portability for current models, with a clear indication that beloved features like the S Pen will likely make a comeback as technological advancements allow for their seamless integration into future, more optimized foldable designs.
