The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) and the Ad Standards Council (ASC) have forged a new agreement, subjecting all gambling-related advertisements to mandatory pre-screening.
PAGCOR – Gambling Ads Stricter Scrutiny
The memorandum of understanding, signed on Wednesday, mandates that all branded or corporate gambling ads across television, radio, online, and outdoor media must now undergo review and approval by the ASC before public release.

This initiative places gambling advertisements among “must-screen” categories, aligning them with regulated products like alcoholic beverages and medicines. The joint effort aims to combat misleading content and safeguard vulnerable populations from potential harm.

This development follows the corporation’s recent directive for the immediate removal of all gambling billboards and out-of-home advertisements by August 15. These actions underscore the government’s intensified commitment to tightening oversight within the rapidly expanding gaming sector, prioritizing consumer protection and public accountability.
