Sony Philippines launched its new ULT POWER SOUND speakers – ULT TOWER 5, 7, and MAX at Beyond the Beat, an event held at COVE Manila in Okada Manila. Designed as the brand’s biggest ULT POWER SOUND launch in the country.
The Sony ULT Squad was also part of the night, with SB19 making their first appearance as its newest members. They joined fellow ULT Squad members Maki, KAIA, Jeremy G, A-Team, Carlos Serrano III, David Guison, Angelique Manto-Guison, and Jacqueline Jala for a night of ULTimate music.
Sony ULT Tower Series
Sony Philippines also introduced the ULT TOWER 5, ULT TOWER 7, and ULT TOWER MAX as the latest additions to the ULT POWER SOUND series. Each is built for deeper bass and party-ready features. They use newly developed large circular woofers and large-capacity speaker cabinets, along with ULT DUCT, which together deliver stronger low-frequency bass performance than before.
The ULT Tower MAX delivers the most powerful bass in the series so far. It has three woofers, two facing forward and one facing back, and an amplifier rated up to 2,150 watts. The ULT Tower 7 offers stage-worthy sound in a portable design at up to 420 watts, while the compact ULT Tower 5 goes up to 300 watts and suits smaller gatherings. Battery life is rated at up to 30 hours on the ULT Tower 7 and 20 hours on the ULT Tower 5.
All three speakers have the ULT button with ULT1 and ULT2 sound modes, along with new FLAT and LIVE modes and Custom EQ in the Sony Sound Connect app. The ULT Tower MAX and ULT Tower 7 add 360° Party Sound and wheels with wider treads, and the ULT Tower 7 and ULT Tower 5 have an IPX4 rating when upright with their port covers closed. For karaoke, you can connect Sony’s optional ULTMIC1, which is sold separately.
Opening program and event zones
Shuhei Sugihara, President and Managing Director of Sony Philippines, opened the event with remarks. Keira Ambubuyog, Product Marketing Specialist, then introduced the new ULT POWER SOUND speakers. Arbie Bandiling, Senior Marketing Communications Executive of Personal Audio Systems, followed with the unveiling of the latest ULT Squad video, which introduced the artists and personalities of the squad.
Guests were able to try the new lineup firsthand across several interactive event zones. Step into the Beat had stacked ULT Towers and a dance pad in an arcade-inspired setup, while ULT Selfie Club offered a high-energy photo experience. At ULT Cover Star, guests styled themselves with ULT Field speakers and designer pieces from Alser Lumawag.
The Bass District was a nightlife-inspired space for KOLs and VIP guests. At the Karaoke Lounges, guests could step up to the mic and try the party-ready karaoke capabilities of the new lineup.
ULT Squad performances at Beyond the Beat
Fashion influencer and ULT Squad member Angelique Manto-Guison hosted the show, with A-Team opening with a high-energy performance, followed by a performance from Carlos Serrano III. David Guison and Jacqueline Jala walked the stage with the ULT Models, and Jeremy G added his own musical style to the lineup.
KAIA brought their youthful energy and contemporary pop sound to the ULT stage, while Maki delivered his signature performance style in a set. SB19 closed the night in their first appearance as ULT Squad members.
