Sony Philippines promo artwork for the FE 8-14mm F3.5 Fisheye G freebie offer

The Sony fisheye zoom lens is official: the FE 8-14mm F3.5 Fisheye G is the company’s first fisheye zoom in the G Lens line for full-frame Alpha E-mount cameras. Sony Philippines announced it on September 9, 2026.

What the Sony fisheye zoom lens covers

One lens covers two fisheye looks. At 8mm it projects a circular fisheye image with a 180-degree angle of view onto a full-frame sensor. At 14mm it fills the frame with a 180-degree diagonal fisheye view. Sony pitches the range for landscapes, architecture, sports and video production, where choosing between a circular and a diagonal framing is part of the shot rather than an afterthought.

A compact body with G Lens optics

The lens measures roughly 63.1mm at its maximum diameter and 82.8mm in length, and weighs about 314 grams, which the brand says keeps it usable handheld, on a gimbal or on a rig. An inner zoom mechanism limits shifts in the centre of gravity as the focal length changes. ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass and aspherical elements hold resolution across the zoom range, and the lens focuses as close as 0.15m with a maximum magnification of 0.22x at the telephoto end.

Autofocus, controls and sealing

The brand lists fast and precise autofocus, Linear Response MF, suppressed focus breathing and quiet operation for movie work. Controls cover a focus mode switch, a zoom lock switch and an aperture ring with switchable click stops. The barrel is dust- and moisture-resistant with a fluorine coating on the front element, though Sony notes it is not guaranteed to be 100% dust- and moisture-proof.

Spatial and VR production

Paired with two VENICE Extension System Mini units mounted side by side, the lens places the optical axes roughly 64mm apart – close to the average interpupillary distance of human eyes. Sony says that setup supports spatial content production, including VR, with a natural sense of depth and distance. The VENICE Extension System Mini is sold separately. Followers of Sony’s E-mount glass can catch up on Gadget Pilipinas’ coverage of the FE 100mm F2.8 Macro GM OSS launch.

PH promo runs until October 3

Buyers in the Philippines who pick up the lens between September 9 and October 3, 2026, get a Nitecore BB Nano Electronic Blower Kit worth PhP4,000. To claim it, register the lens on MySony and present the confirmation email from a successful registration. The release does not state a local retail price for the FE 8-14mm F3.5 Fisheye G.

Full details sit on Sony’s product page for the SEL814G, and Sony points creators to experience.sony-asia.com for work shot with it. For Alpha shooters, the fisheye zoom lens closes a gap that prime fisheyes left open – circular to diagonal in one mountable, 314-gram body, with a freebie on top for early buyers.
