New content from the Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising Version 2.60 update

Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising is now available on Nintendo Switch 2. Cygames released the Legendary Edition the same day it rolled out the Version 2.60 update for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Steam. This follows the original December 14, 2023 launch on PS5, PS4, and Steam, and the pre-order details we reported when Cygames opened orders for this version.

Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising Legendary Edition: What’s Included

Priced at USD 49.99, Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising Legendary Edition bundles the base game with both Deluxe Character Passes, covering every Season 1 and Season 2 character along with their premium avatars, four color variants, and three weapon skins each.

The package also includes the Guider to the Eternal Edge costumes for Gran and Djeeta, the Canaan Shrine stage from Deluxe Character Pass 2, the Vikala (Yin) and Sandalphon (Dark) premium avatars, and the Additional Character Set that adds Id. The Switch 2 version ships with the full 40-character roster unlocked from the start, so no fighter sits behind a separate purchase.

Version 2.60: Id, a New Stage, and Chain Attack

Version 2.60 of Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising adds Id, the swordsman from Granblue Fantasy: Relink, as a playable character. The update also brings the Ainsteddo Archipelago stage, character balance adjustments, and a new system mechanic that Cygames plans to detail later.

The same update also introduces a Chain Attack mechanic, along with new costumes and weapon skins, on PS5, PS4, and Steam.

Switch 2 Extras and Crossplay

The Switch 2 version also brings two modes not found on other platforms: Gyro Versus, played by shaking the Joy-Con 2, and Super Ultimate+. Neither mode appears in Ranked or Casual Match online play.

Local Communication allows nearby Switch 2 owners to battle wirelessly, while online crossplay connects Switch 2 players with those on PS5, PS4, and Steam for matches and Grand Bruise Legends. Note that online play requires a paid Nintendo Switch Online membership.

Early Purchase and Save-Data Bonuses

Early buyers get the Reverent Attire costume for Sandalphon at no extra cost, available until 6:59 a.m. Pacific Time on January 12, 2027, after which it goes on sale separately. Players who link save data from Granblue Fantasy: Relink – Endless Ragnarok receive a weapon skin for Id and the Lyria (Shaman of Salvation) lobby avatar. Data linking has already opened on September 17.
