NVIDIA and SEGA are celebrating three decades of collaboration with a new chapter that looks toward the future of PC gaming. During a special event held at GiGO Akihabara Building 3 in Tokyo, the brands announced that VIRTUA FIGHTER CROSSROADS and future SEGA titles will arrive on NVIDIA RTX Spark-powered devices. The milestone reflects how both companies continue to evolve while staying connected to the innovations that helped shape modern gaming.

A Partnership That Helped Shape 3D Gaming

NVIDIA and SEGA’s partnership began in 1996 when NVIDIA’s NV1 graphics chip powered the first Virtua Fighter on PC, one of the earliest 3D fighting games available to players. Three decades later, both companies returned to where much of that history was made—the original SEGA Akihabara Arcade, now known as GiGO Akihabara Building 3—to celebrate the milestone. Joining the event were NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang, SEGA CEO Haruki Satomi, COO Shuji Utsumi, Virtua Fighter creator Yu Suzuki, and former SEGA President Shoichiro Irimajiri, highlighting the significance of the partnership across generations of gaming.

Virtua Fighter Crossroads Leads SEGA’s RTX Spark Support

Leading the announcement is VIRTUA FIGHTER CROSSROADS, which will be among the first SEGA titles to support NVIDIA RTX Spark. The new platform is built around NVIDIA’s RTX Spark superchip, targeting slim Windows laptops and compact desktop PCs while bringing together AI capabilities and RTX graphics technologies. NVIDIA says gamers can expect experiences enhanced by ray tracing, DLSS, and AI, opening new possibilities for both current and future SEGA franchises.

The Next Generation of PC Gaming

Beyond celebrating the past, the event underscored the companies’ shared vision for the future of gaming. NVIDIA and SEGA positioned RTX Spark as a platform that blends AI, content creation, and gaming into a new generation of Windows PCs, with VIRTUA FIGHTER CROSSROADS serving as the first step in that direction. As more SEGA titles make their way to RTX Spark, the partnership continues to bridge arcade gaming’s rich history with the technologies shaping tomorrow’s gaming experiences.
