Acer continues to hold its position as the leading laptop brand in the Philippines, marking another milestone in what has become a two-decade run at the top of the local market. Based on Nielsen-GfK data covering the first five months of 2026, Acer remained ahead in both the consumer and gaming laptop segments.
Acer Maintains Lead Across Consumer and Gaming Segments
According to Nielsen-GfK, Acer captured a 37% share of the consumer laptop market and a 34.5% share of the gaming laptop segment during the first five months of 2026. These numbers follow a record-setting 2025, when the brand achieved a 37.3% share of the consumer laptop market. IDC’s Quarterly Personal Computing Device Tracker also recognized Acer as the country’s top laptop brand for 20 consecutive years from 2006 to 2025. Acer attributes its sustained growth not only to its notebook lineup but also to its broader ecosystem of services, retail presence, and community-driven initiatives.
Expanding Its Reach Through Education
Outside the consumer and gaming markets, Acer continues to invest in education through the Acer Edu Summit. The regional event brings together educators, policymakers, and technology leaders to discuss how artificial intelligence and human-centered innovation can shape the future of learning. The initiative reflects Acer’s broader efforts to contribute to digital transformation beyond its core product portfolio.
Celebrating 50 Years of Innovation
“These achievements are deeply meaningful to us as we celebrate Acer’s 50th anniversary. They reflect our strong commitment to our mission of breaking barriers between people and technology, one that has guided our innovations for five decades.”
-Su Ong-Lim, Managing Director of Acer Philippines
This year also marks Acer’s 50th anniversary as a technology company. Programs such as Acer Day, now celebrating its 10th year, continue to connect users through technology-focused experiences, while the Asia Pacific Predator League has become one of the company’s flagship esports events, now entering its eighth year. These efforts have helped Acer strengthen its presence beyond traditional hardware, positioning the brand as part of the broader tech and gaming lifestyle.
