Samsung has reportedly shelved plans for the Galaxy S26 Edge, signaling the likely discontinuation of the company’s “Edge” smartphone line. The decision follows the disappointing sales performance of its predecessor, the Galaxy S25 Edge.

According to reports, including one from South Korea’s NewsPim citing an unnamed Samsung official, the slim-line Edge series will be phased out once the existing stock of the S25 Edge is cleared. The official suggested the line is “practically gone,” with a return being “unlikely.”

Data from Hana Investment & Securities indicates that the Galaxy S25 Edge shipped only 1.31 million units as of August. This pales in comparison to the flagship S25 Ultra, which shipped 12.18 million units, and the standard S25 and S25+ models, which moved 8.28 million and 5.05 million units, respectively.

While development for an S26 Edge model was reportedly completed, it is not expected to launch under that name. Instead, Samsung is anticipated to focus on a new three-device lineup for its Galaxy S26 series, expected in January: the Galaxy S26 Pro, S26 Plus, and S26 Ultra.
