HONOR has just introduced the HONOR Magic V5 in China with an even thinner design and a boost in performance and improvement in the camera department.
HONOR Magic V5
The HONOR Magic V5 is thinner and lighter than its predecessor at just 8.8mm thick when folded or 4.1mm/4.2mm when fully opened, and it weighs 217g/222g. The Ivory White is the lightest and thinnest of all the color options.
It features a 6.43-inch outer display with a 2376×1060 resolution and a 7.95-inch 2352×2172 resolution inner display. These are both LTPO OLED panels with an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate. The outer panel is protected by the HONOR Anti-scratch NanoCrystal Shield, while the larger screen has the HONOR Super Armored Inner Screen.
For optics, it still has the octagonal camera module with a 64MP 70mm periscope telephoto lens on the top, joined by the 50MP main and 50MP ultrawide sensors below it. Rounding out the camera department are two 20MP snappers housed in the inner and outer panels.
Under the hood, the HONOR Magic V5 has a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage. These are powered by a large 6100mAh silicon-carbon battery in China. The device supports up to 66W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
The next-generation foldable device from HONOR also has an improved IP rating at IP58 and IP59, up from the IPX8 of the Magic V3.

Pricing and Availability
The HONOR Magic V5 is available in four colors in China – Ivory White, Black, Dawn Gold, and Reddish Brown. It also comes in three configurations and these are priced at:
- 12GB+256GB – CNY 8,999 (around PHP 70,800)
- 16GB+512GB – CNY 9,999 (around PHP 78,600)
- 16GB+1TB – CNY 10,999 (around PHP 86,500)
We saw the HONOR Magic V3 arrive in the Philippines and because of this, we expect to see a local launch for the Magic V5 at a later date as well.
