A report from Business Post Korea shared that Samsung will develop LPDDR6 memory chips and introduce them to the market later this year.
Samsung – LPDDR6 Memory
The LPDDR6 chips from Samsung are said to be using 1C DRAM, the latest design of DRAM following 1b. These chips provide faster performance and better power efficiency compared to their predecessors.
The LPDDR6 memory is expected to be mainly used for laptops and smartphones and is believed to be coupled with the Snapdragon X Elite 2 chip, which is slotted for release in September 2025. If this is accurate, then we can expect devices (we assume next-generation flagship devices in particular) will ship as early as Q4 2024 or Q1 2025 with the new RAM and the new flagship chipset.

The move to introduce LPDDR6 is reportedly due to its lagging behind its competitors like Micron and SK Hynix, after Samsung’s previous domination of the market.
The South Korean tech giant has yet to confirm this, though, so take this with a grain of salt.
Ram found his love and appreciation for writing in 2015 having started in the gaming and esports sphere for GG Network. He would then transition to focus more on the world of tech which has also began his journey into learning more about this world. That said though, he still has the mentality of "as long as it works" for his personal gadgets.
