Photos from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) leaked that reveal the design of the Xbox-branded variant of the ROG Ally 2, the company’s next-generation handheld gaming device.
The listing reveals two versions of the next-generation handheld – a dark model with a dedicated Xbox button on the top and a white version with the same button blacked out.
ROG Ally 2 Xbox Edition
The photos reveal a thicker design for the ROG Ally 2 compared to its predecessor. Moreover, it looks to have rounder grips, similar to those of a controller, and a variety of ports. This includes two USB-C ports, an HDMI port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The two variants of the ASUS ROG Ally 2 look identical but have different specs. First, they are said to both come with 120Hz 7-inch displays.

However, the Xbox Edition, with the model number RC73X1, will come with an 8-core AMD Ryzen Z2 Extreme (36W) as well as 64GB LPDDR5X. Meanwhile, its regular sibling (RC73YA) is reported to have a 4-core AMD Aeirth Plus chip (20W).
The Xbox Edition is said to add features like support for the Xbox Game Bar, Play Anywhere, and Game Pass Ultimate. It’s uncertain, though, what the Xbox button will do exactly.
The FCC listing photos could hint that the ASUS ROG Ally 2 is coming soon, but we have yet to hear about it officially.
