AnTuTu, a benchmarking platform, recently unveiled its January 2024 performance rankings for Android smartphones. It revealed that Snapdragon-powered smartphones led the global market, while MediaTek chipsets dominated in both flagship and mid-range categories in China.

Global Market Results

Let us start with the Top 10 Flagship Phones on the Global market. Leading the chart is the Red Magic 9 Pro with a score of 2,096,559 followed by the iQOO 12 with a score of 2,045,064 and finally in third place the nubia Z60 Ultra which scored 2,024,711.

The Galaxy S24 series follows suit with S24 Ultra leading with its Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset followed by the Exynos 2400-powered S24+ and S24. Surprisingly enough, The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Galaxy Edition-powered Galaxy S23 Ultra and S23+ close out the top 10.

Next up, the Dimensity 9300-powered Oppo Find X7 leads the flagship segment with a 22,09,933 score, marginally trailing the iQOO 12 Pro and Asus ROG Phone 8 Pro, indicating fierce competition among chipmakers.

The flagship segment in China may be led by the MediaTek chipset, but the other Dimensity 9300-powered devices are found on the tail-end of the top 10 list with the iQOO Neo9 Pro, vivo X100 Pro, and and X100.

The story is quite different though in the Chinese mid-range segment which is led by the the Redmi K70E, featuring MediaTek’s Dimensity 8300 Ultra. It outperformed the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2-powered Realme GT Neo5 SE by a large margin as far as the benchmark results go.

The rest of the devices in the top 10, aside from the Redmi Note 12 Turbo and GT Neo5 SE, have a MediaTek Dimensity chipset.
