NVIDIA DLSS Comes to Lords of the Fallen, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, Alan Wake 2, and More

With an aim of delivering an even more immersive gaming experience, NVIDIA continues to bring its DLSS technology to more and more titles. This week it’s Lords of the Fallen, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III multiplayer beta, Naraka: Bladepoint, Warhammer: Vermintide 2, and more.

What is DLSS?

DLSS technology utilizes the power of AI and the tensor cores in GeForce RTX GPUs to  improve graphics performance. For RTX 40 Series GPUs, DLSS 3.5 (the latest version) enables frame generation, which involves analyzing sequential frames and motion data to create more high quality frames.

Using game-ready drivers, improvements to NVIDIA’s AI Models are swiftly delivered to your GeForce RTX-powered machine, allowing the Tensor Cores in your GeForce RTX GPUs to utilize the DLSS AI network in real time to help improve performance.

There’s also Ray Reconstruction, which is applicable to all GeForce RTX GPUs. It uses AI to generate additional pixels for those intensive ray-traced scenes. DLSS makes use of NVIDIA’s AI network to deliver pixels that are of higher quality in between sampled rays.

DLSS Super Resolution, on the other hand, enhances the performance of all GeForce RTX GPUs by letting you play at a higher resolution using output of lower resolution. This is done by reconstructing native quality images by analyzing motion data and feedback from prior frames.

Lastly, Deep Learning Anti-Aliasing uses AI-based anti-aliasing techniques to deliver better image quality for all GeForce RTX GPUs.

Lords of the Fallen

Those with RTX 40 Series GPUs will surely enjoy great performance in HEXWORKS and CI Games’ Lords of the Fallen, which comes with day-one DLSS 3 support.

With DLSS 3, the GeForce RTX 4070 was able to achieve way past 60fps at 4K, the RTX 4070ti was even better, with an average exceeding 100 FPS. The RTX 4080 managed to get past 120 FPS on average, while the top end RTX 4090 comfortably exceeded 144 FPS.

At 1440p, RTX 40 Series GPUs easily managed to exceed 60 FPS on average, and easily beyond 100fps on average in 1080p.

Alan Wake 2 GeForce RTX 40 Series Bundle

Remedy Entertainment’s Alan Wake 2 lets you experience two beautiful, and at the same time terrifying worlds with the power of DLSS 3.5, which takes advantage of Ray Reconstruction to deliver the most immersive and responsive experience thanks to NVIDIA Reflex.

Enabling DLSS in Alan Wake 2 with an GeForce RTX GPU enables Ray Reconstruction, which uses an AI model to improve ray tracing quality for more immersive gameplay, and accelerated performance.

With an RTX 4090, all settings maxed and full ray tracing enabled, enabling Frame Generation, Ray Reconstruction, and Super Resolution sees performance multiplied by 4.1X. This means gamers can experience the game at over 120 FPS, at 4K. Performance is also multiplied by 4.7X on both the RTX 4080 and 4070Ti, at nearly 80 FPS in 4K. With the same settings at 1440p, a GeForce RTX 4070 and above allows for 80+ FPS, and for 1080p, it’s a performance multiplier of 2.7x on average, with faster cards allowing up to a staggering 190 FPS.

“The new Ray Reconstruction feature in DLSS 3.5 renders our fully ray-traced world more beautifully than ever before, bringing you deeper into the story of Alan Wake 2”
