According to a report from the Wall Street Journal, Netflix may have an upcoming price hike soon. This change in the subscription price may happen after the Hollywood strike ends.
Netflix Price Hike Soon
The report stated that the price hike will happen in several markets globally starting with the US and Canada.
As of now, there has been no official report from the streaming platform regarding how much the price will increase. But this price hike is a result of Hollywood’s recovery which is being bolstered by the Writers Guild of America’s (WGA) decision to increase rates, following its strike and voting on a potential deal with major Hollywood companies.
Under this new contract, the WGA will require streaming platforms like Netflix, Disney Plus, HULU, and other platforms to share streaming data which then allows writers to see how their content performs.
So, for now, we can only wait for the Hollywood strike which is said to end in a few weeks.
