Arm has just announced the Arm Total Compute Solutions 2023, the platform for mobile computing At Computex 2023. The platform includes the new Arm Immortalis GPU, a new cluster of Armv9 CPUs, and new enhancements.

The new Immortalis-G720 is Arm’s most performance and efficient GPU ever, pushing the boundaries of visual computing. It delivers 15% performance and efficiency improvements over the previous generation. Additionally, it has a 40% uplift in system efficiency, leading to higher-quality graphics.

Arm also introduced the Mali-G720 and Mali-G620. These are bringing premium graphics to a broad range of consumer devices, like smartphones, laptops, DTVs, set-top boxes, and wearables.

The Mali-G720 offers support for 6-9 cores, while the Mali-G620 supports 5 cores or fewer to allow Arm premium licensees.

As part of the Arm Total Compute Solutions 2023, the company announced a new Armv9 Cortex CPU compute cluster that delivers double-digit performance gains with significant efficiency improvements.

A vital part is the new Arm Cortex-X4, the fourth-generation Cortex core. It is the fastest CPU from the company, bringing 15% more performance compared to its predecessor.

It also has a power efficiency microarchitecture that consumes 40% less power than its predecessor. These result in performance and efficiency gains like UI responsiveness and application launch time.

This also extends to the company’s new big and little cores namely the Arm Cortex-A720 and Cortex-A520. The Cortex-A720 is a CPU IP that boosts sustained performance as the workhorse of the cluster. The Cortex-A520 is the company’s best-performing high-efficiency CPU core. It offers a 20% power efficiency improvement of these new CPU designs over previous generations.

The Cortex-X4 is built on the TSMC N3E process, an industry first that ensures that the ecosystem is ready to maximize the PPA processor technologies.

Rounding off the 2023 CPU cluster is the new DynamIQ Shared Unit, DSU-120, designed for demanding multi-thread use cases and enables a broad range of devices from wearables to smartphones and laptops.
