TECNO Mobile’s sub-brand, PHANTOM has announced the pre-order details for the TECNO PHANTOM X2 Series which includes the world’s first smartphone with a retractable portrait lens – PHANTOM X2 Pro 5G. Along with the PHANTOM X2 5G, it marks the brand’s first venture into the high-end global smartphone market, offering a host of groundbreaking features and outstanding performance.
The PHANTOM X2 Pro 5G even has a special edition variant with a back cover made by recycling materials recovered from the ocean using a complex multi-stage process. This Eco-Friendly Edition uses the striking Mars Orange design representing the stark landscapes of the red planet.
Both devices have a 6.8-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, protected with Gorilla Glass Victus, and are also powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 9000, along with 8GB of RAM on the regular variant, and 12GB on the Pro. Both offer 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage with no microSD card slot.
The PHANTOM X2 Pro 5G in particular, uses a 50MP 65mm 2.5x optical zoom retractable portrait lens which allows for portraits comparable to professional camera shots with just a pocket-sized device. You also get a 50MP main camera, and a 13MP ultra-wide unit. The non-pro variant, on the other hand, uses a 64MP main snapper, a 13MP ultra-wide, and a 2MP auxiliary unit.
Both PHANTOM X2 Pro 5G and PHANTOM X2 5G run HiOS 12 and pack a 5,160mAh battery with support for 45W wired fast-charging. The former comes in Stardust Grey and Mars Orange colors, while the latter comes in Moonlight Silver and Stardust Grey colors.
TECNO PHANTOM V Fold Coming to PH
Announced at MWC 2023, the innovative TECNO PHANTOM V Fold is the brand’s first foldable smartphone packed with features that allow it to deliver a premium experience. It’s the first left-right foldable the runs a Dimensity 9000+ processor.
The PHANTOM V Fold also utilizes a 120Hz Golden-sized dual screen, ultra-flat main screen with minimized crease, five-lens ultra clear camera system, and more.

TECNO PHANTOM X2 Series Pricing and Pre-Order
PHANTOM X2 Pro 5G is priced at PHP 42,999 while the PHANTOM X2 5G is priced at PHP 32,999. Both are currently available for pre-order until March 9, and will be available for purchase at TECNO Mobile’s official store on Shopee from March 3, via Lazada and Zalora from March 8, and select TECNO Mobile offline stores from March 10.
Those who pre-order will be asked for a minimum downpayment of PHP 2,000 in cash and will also receive freebies worth PHP 3,000 – TECNO Backpack, SM Mall Shopping Voucher, and SVIP CarlCare Service Card. Financing options are also available via Home Credit at 6, 9, 12, 15, or 16 months.
