ASUS has just introduced the Zenbook 17 Fold OLED (UX9702) in the Philippines. The new laptop is the world’s first 17.3-inch foldable OLED laptop and garnered multiple awards including the iF Design, Red Dot Design Awards, and TIME Magazine’s Best Inventions of 2022.

The Zenbook 17 Fold OLED laptop offers two sizes of OLED displays. There’s the large 4:3 17.3-inch 2.5K NanoEdge touchscreen that folds in the middle to create two seamless 3:2 12.5-inch 1920×1280 displays. The panel is Dolby Vision-certified with 100% DCI-P3 and PANTONE validated. Additionally, it is TÜV Rheinland-certified.

When fully folded along the 180-degree hinge, it’s an ultra-compact and portable 12.5-inch device. There are six modes to use the laptop in. These are namely Desktop, Laptop (with Bluetooth keyboard), Laptop (with virtual keyboard), Tablet, Reader, and Extended.

  • Desktop mode – 17.3-inch panel propped up in landscape using the built-in faux leather kickstand. It can be used with the included full-size ASUS ErgoSense Bluetooth keyboard and touchpad connected wirelessly
  • Laptop mode (with Bluetooth keyboard) – keyboard attaches magnetically when placed on the lower half of the folded display.
  • Laptop mode (with virtual keyboard) – the lower display can be turned into a virtual on-screen keyboard
  • Tablet mode – use the full touch capabilities of the fully opened 17.3-inch touchscreen display which is ideal for team collaboration and presenting ideas
  • Reader mode – align the hinge vertically to turn the Zenbook 17 Fold OLED into the perfect reading device
  • Extended mode – propped in portrait orientation, the folded two 12.5-inch screens are perfect for you to scroll seamlessly on the upper and lower displays.

Additionally, you can connect the laptop to an external monitor via one of the two USB-C Thunderbolt 4 ports.

In each of the six modes, there are easy-to-use window management tools like Mode Switcher in the ScreenXpert 3 app that allows multiple split-display configurations and flexible app layouts for enhanced productivity.

The hinge itself is tested to withstand over 30,000 open-and-close cycles.

The Zenbook 17 Fold OLED is Intel Evo-certified, equipped with a 12th Gen Intel Core i7 processor, Intel Iris Xe graphics, 16GB RAM, and a 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD.

Moreover, it has a 75Wh battery with USB-C Easy Charge support and is bundled with a 65W fast-charge adapter. The laptop comes with two USB-C Thunderbolt 4 ports and comes with a USB-C to USB-A adapter.

It has a powerful quad-speaker certified by Harman Kardon with support for the Dolby Atmos system. The flexible laptop also has a 5MP AI webcam with ASUS 3D Noise Reduction technology.

Lastly, it has smart AI-powered features like user-presence detection via an HD-IR camera. It automatically locks the laptop while you’re away and unlocks it when you return.

The ASUS Zenbook 17 Fold OLED (UX9702) comes in a premium Tech Black color and in a limited 100 pieces in the Philippines. The flexible laptop is priced at PHP 219,995 and has a free lifetime license to Office Home & Student 2021 license. You can get the laptop with up to 12 months of 0% installment via Home Credit as well.
