Geely, a car manufacturer, announced last January that is interested in acquiring Meizu as a means to enter the phone manufacturing market.
Now, Geely has completed the acquisition thus saving Meizu from failing because the latter has been on the decline in recent years and a Sony partnership that brought Flyme apps to Xperia phones was not enough to help it.
Furthermore, a year ago, Geely also created a new company – Hubei Xingji Shidai Technology that aims to manufacture smartphones and other smart devices for the global market.
