Razer is known to gamers as the brand that pushes new innovations and concepts that aim to improve the gaming experience.
During CES 2022, Razer unveiled their concept for a true modular gaming desk called Project Sophia. This is the world’s first gaming desk concept that can adapt to any user.
Fully Modular and Completely Customizable
Project Sophia aims to become a versatile and highly modifiable desk that is capable of supporting up to 13 separate modules for personalization. Each section can be configured for task-specific components which include secondary displays, system monitoring tools, touch-screen hotkey panels, pen tablets, and audio mixer units, and external capture cards.
“Project Sophia is our futuristic vision of a multi-purpose gaming and workstation set-up which meets the very different needs of a variety of PC uses, negating the need to move between workspaces. The hot-swappable modular system allows users to quickly reconfigure their desk with near-infinite flexibility, adapting Project Sophia not just for the task at hand, but also to the user’s particular preference. This is the future of the battle station.”
Richard Hashim, VP of Growth at Razer.
The Power of Your PC In your Desk
Located at Project Sophia’s Core, is a customized PCB filled with cutting-edge core components that include the latest Intel Processor and NVIDIA GPU. The components are housed in a slim chassis that magnetically snaps in underneath the glass table to save desk space. This also makes it easy to swap components for your upgrades.
Furthermore, the modular desk can accommodate touchscreen digitizers, tablets, and creative tools that can help streamline hotkeys and macros. You can also choose to add high-fidelity audio by adding a THX Surround system along with a high refresh rate monitor for an immersive gaming experience.
For streamers, Project Sophia can have a full broadcast setup that has a camera, microphone, and stream control, and those of you who are looking for an efficient work environment can add productivity hotkey modules, wireless charger, and cup warmer.
Lastly, Project Sophia has an integrated line of LEDs that can be synced with the Razer Chroma RGB ecosystem. It is also accompanied by a 65” next-gen OLED display that features self-lit pixels to ensure a brighter, sharper picture to enhance your viewing experience.
